Shivani Datai secured a second place and a prize of 500 Euros in the Talking Science pitching competition held during the TU/e Research Day. Her pitch, titled "In AI Adoption, We Trust," shed light on the crucial role of trust in adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare.
Datai's research delved into the emotional bonds formed with 'embedded' AI systems that can perform tasks as efficiently, if not better, than humans. Through her findings, she aims to enhance human-AI interactions and develop strategies to build trust in healthcare settings.
Datai expressed her gratitude to her research team, including Dr. Roca, Jaime Bonnin, Prof. Dr. Nijssen, Ed, her daily supervisor Dr. Ir. Sihag, Vikrant, and co-promoter Prof. Dr. Ir. Marcel Bogers, for their invaluable feedback.. She also acknowledged the unwavering support and enthusiasm of her Ph.D. group at the Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship and Marketing (ITEM) group.
