We are delighted to have you join our vibrant community of learners, innovators, and problem solvers in this dynamic city. The Eindhoven University of Technology is an integral part of the Brainport region, where experimentation and unconventional thinking are deeply ingrained, leading to significant successes in recent decades. We look forward to helping you grow, learn, and make lifelong connections, as you embark on this exciting new step in your life.

After your arrival in the Netherlands, our Staff Immigration Team (SIT) can assist you with the practical matters listed here.

Finding your way around campus

Within walking distance of the central train and bus station, you'll find our green campus with beautiful architecture, varied workplaces, and loads of facilities to host our vibrant campus community. Signs give directions to the buildings and the nearest parking lots. There are also parking options for cyclists everywhere, either outside or in special bike basements. If you come by car, you can use your campus card to open the barrier. TU/e uses paid parking to reduce car use. Also be sure to sign up for one of our introduction days, as you'll get a tour of our beautiful campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the working hours and TU/e’s policies on attendance?

The regular working hours for employees at TU/e are from Monday to Friday, generally starting between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM and ending between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM. However, at TU/e, you have the flexibility to plan your own working hours and to make agreements with your supervisor and team about how you want to organize your (hybrid) work. When arranging for working from home, the type of work and the team's interests are leading. All in consult of course, but quite flexible. Please find more information here

  • What is TU/e’s policy on breaks and lunch hours?

Breaks and lunchtime are generally considered personal time and not counted as work time. Many colleagues bring their own lunch. A Dutch lunch is quite simple and usually consists of sandwiches. However, in most food pantries you will find microwaves to heat up your own food. You will also find restaurants, food outlets, and a supermarket on campus. You can opt for both hot and cold lunches here. Of course, you can also choose to take a walk around our beautiful, green campus with your colleagues. Or you can use your lunch break to exercise in TU/e's sports center.

  • What should I wear? Is there a dress code for employees at the university?

At our diverse community there’s no strict dress code for employees. However, generally you could label it as smart casual. This means that a neat but casual appearance is appreciated but it’s also fine to wear jeans or neat sandals. There’s usually no need for formal or strictly business attire.
