Arjan Markus

RESEARCH PROFILE
Arjan Markus is an Assistant Professor with tenure in the Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship, and Marketing (ITEM) group at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on networks and ecosystems in innovation. His work has been published in the Strategic Management Journal, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Social Networks. He co-obtained three large-scale Horizon Europe grants with European consortia, studying ecosystems and business models in agrifood (Code: Re-farm), intra- and interregional ecosystems for knowledge production (COOPERATE), and designing business models and assessing planned interventions in the food value chain (CUES). Recently, he is also part of REWIRE, a four-year project funded by NWO which focuses on how collaboration can spur the transition to circular agriculture.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Arjan Markus holds a Ph.D. from Copenhagen Business School and BSc and MSc degrees from Utrecht University. During his Ph.D. and as a postdoc, he visited the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the Eindhoven University of Technology, Arjan worked as an Assistant Professor at Tilburg University. He teaches the Master course Strategy and Technology Management, the Bachelor course Organizing Entrepreneurship, and the EngD course Technology Entrepreneurship. He co-supervises four Ph.D. candidates and has supervised over 30 master theses and 40 bachelor projects.
