RESEARCH PROFILE

Lijia's research interest is in the area of Behavioral Operations Management.

She conducts labortoary experiments to observe human decisions and uses the data to test her behavioral modes in Operations Management.

Her research topics cover auction mechanisms, supply chains contracts, and individual decisions under uncertainty. She is also interested in human decisions in complex situation and the interactions between human decision makers and decision support systems, for example, the interactions between production planners and production planning systems.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Lijia Tan joined TU/e as an assistant professor in 2020. She is working in the Operations, Planning, Accounting and Control (OPAC) capacity group at the department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences (IE&IS). 

In 2015, she recieved her Ph.D. in Economics from Xiamen University in China. After graduation, she was funded by Fritz Thyssen Stiftung  for a two-years postdoc position at Univeristy of Cologne. Afterwards, she moved to the Netherlands and worked for TU/e as a postdoc in OPAC capacity group utill 2019. Before rejoining TU/e, she was working at Tianjin University in China.
