RESEARCH PROFILE
dr. Yuyang Wang is the Microscopy Facility Manager at Institute for Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS) TU/e and the group of Molecular Biosensing for Medical Diagnostics (MBx). He manages the optical microsocpy facilities within ICMS core infrastructure for advanced material analysis. He supports research actitivies in Applied Physics (AP), Biomedical engineering (BME), Chemical Engineering and Chemistry (CEC) deparments and ICMS relying on single-molecule, super-resolution and correlative light - electron microsocpy. Yuyang provides technical support of facility service for ICMS industrial consortium partners.
The world is bigger than it seems under the scrutiny of a microscope. I design microscope solutions to answer scientific questions.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Yuyang Wang obtained his PhD at the Department of Applied Physics in TU/e for his doctoral research on plasmon-enhanced single-molecule fluorescence and enzymology in 2020. From 2020, he performed postdoctoral research under a joint fellowship of Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC, Barcelona) and ICMS at TU/e on stimulated emission depletion microscopy (STED). From June 2021, he is the Microscopy Facility Manager at ICMS.
