Emma Visser

Emma is a PhD candidate at the Human Technology Interaction group of the department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences. She is part of the BioClock consortium, doing research on the importance of circadian rhythms in society. Specifically, Emma focusses on the optimization of bright light therapy for patients with depression. She is passionate about psychiatry and the use of non-invasive, non-pharmacological interventions. 

Prior to her PhD, Emma completed her Master`s degree "Neuroscience and Cognition" at Utrecht University with the distinction cum laude. Her thesis focused on the effectiveness of repetitive transcranial direct current stimulation in reducing anhedonia symptoms in treatment-resistant depression.
