Robbert Schulpen

RESEARCH PROFILE

Robbert Schulpen is a PhD Candidate in the Electromagnetics Group at the Eindhoven University of Technology. His research topic is ‘5G Millimeter-Wave Channel Sounding for 5G New Radio and beyond’. Schulpen’s focus is on dynamical outdoor channels, moving users and channel sounder calibration in the 24-30 GHz band. His PhD project is part of the Smart-One Flagship Telecom collaboration between KPN and TU/e.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Robbert Schulpen received his bachelor’s and master’s (cum laude) degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2015 and 2017, respectively. As part of his master’s degree, he completed an internship at the New York University Wireless (NYU Wireless) about ‘A 60 GHz Wideband Channel Sounder’ and a graduation project with Ampleon about the ‘Design of a Phased Array Antenna for 5G Base Station Applications in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band’. Since 2017, he is a full-time PhD Candidate at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
