Facilities

From 3D printing to laser cutting

TU/e innovation Space is the place where you make with your hands what you have in mind. In various workshops with modern tools and instruments, you can shape your ideas under supervision or after instruction.

We have several labs with 3D printers, laser cutters, sawing and painting capabilities, lathes and virtual reality equipment to further develop your prototypes. To get a glimpse of all facilities, check out the labvideo.

Assembly and learning areas

On the first floor in Matrix there are two different assembly areas for prototyping and several lecture rooms used also for CBL courses.

Matrix 1.100

Heavy Assembly

Space that is open for all students to support more advanced prototyping activities that make use of various types of specialized equipment.

Matrix 1.260

Light assembly

This is the open assembly space. Here you can build your 'proof of concept' with basic tools when there is no education. The service desk can provide you with tools and assistance every weekday from 8:00h until 18:00h. 3D printing is also possible via the service desk assistants.

Matrix 1.116/1.122/1.333/1.340/1.345

Lecture rooms

Education of innovation Space mostly takes place in the Light Assembly area (1.260). There are however other rooms in Matrix used for lectures.

Working and meeting spaces

In Matrix, students can also find areas where to have a creative brainstorming session, an inspiring meeting or a cup of coffee with peers.

Matrix 1.350

Office area

A flex office space where the community of innovation Space can work.

Matrix 1.235

Pantry area

This is the place where the kitchen and the long table are. Here you may use the kitchen utilities, the dishwasher (put dirty dishes in, put it on and empty it), and the fridge which is next to the coffee machine (right one is for innoSpace members). You also may use the microwave but please clean it after using it.

Matrix 1.226

Event and chill area

Both open areas are located next to the pantry area. The event area is primarily used as a workplace and/or a place for events, visits and tours. The chill area (in the corner behind the coffee machines) is primarily an innovation Space community area.

Matrix 1.231 and 1.239

Paddocks

There are two paddocks on the first floor which are assigned to teams.

Matrix 1.222

Solidarity room

The solidarity room is accessible with campus card to all innovation Space student team members and innovation Space staff. You can reserve this room by sending an e-mail to innovationspace@tue.nl. The room is equipped with 2 screens and a Logitech videoconferencing system to have online or hybrid meetings.

Matrix 0.341/1.108/1.112/1/218/1.329
