The EIR Program aims to cultivate and contribute to an entrepreneurial mindset across TU/e (considered a key pillar in the institutional strategy), whilst further strengthening the link to the broader (high-tech) startup ecosystem in the Brainport region and beyond. To this end, the EIR Program brings together a group of seasoned and accomplished entrepreneurs (EIRs) to the campus who are committed to provide valuable insights and practical advice into the startup process for at least one year.
In this year they offer coaching and mentoring support to one or more student-entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial researchers, startups and/or new venture teams who have the ambition of bringing their high-tech innovations via new ventures to market. EIR’s involvement may range from guidance on how to generate social impact, to business and strategy development, to connecting the startup or spin-off initiative with potential investors and other engagement opportunities with relevant stakeholders in the EIR’s network. Moreover, the EIR Program may also seek to contribute to various seminars, workshops and conferences to share and demonstrate real-world experiences with the wider startup and entrepreneur community in the (Brainport) region.
The Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Program is an initiative of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and is established as a collaborative effort between The Gate, our (research) departments and Innovation Space.
