RESEARCH PROFILE
Ulf Johannsen is an Associate Professor with the Electromagnetics group at the TU/e department of Electrical Engineering. He leads the Antenna Systems research activities of the group. His research focus lies on antenna systems for various applications. He has been the coordinator for several national and European projects, is the chair person of the IEEE Benelux joint AP/MTT chapter, a member of EuMA and an associate member of INCOSE.
Significant advancements can only be achieved through collaboration and team efforts.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Ulf Johannsen received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in Communications Engineering from Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH, Germany) in 2009. In 2013, he obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e, the Netherlands). He then started as Senior Systems Engineer at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH (Bremen, Germany), where he worked as system designer and engineering manager on autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems with sonar payloads. In 2016, he was appointed Assistant Professor with the Electromagnetics group at the TU/e department of Electrical Engineering.
