With your knowledge, skills and your method of research, you have the perfect background to find a job as a medical engineer. Demand for medical engineers is high, because average life expectancy is on the rise, the role of technology within healthcare will continue to develop and the complexity of medical challenges is ever increasing.
After achieving your MSc in Medical Engineering, a broad range of opportunities awaits you – within and outside hospitals. Universities, hospitals and the R&D departments of technical organizations could well fall within your field of work. You can find employment as a researcher, but you can also become a project manager, teacher or consultant.
You can also opt for an academic doctorate by embarking on doctoral research (PhD) at TU/e, at another university of your choice, or at a UMC. Would you like to learn how medical technology can contribute to the improvement and optimization of healthcare processes? If so, consider the EngD – Engineering Doctorate – course of study to become a Qualified Medical Engineer (QME) or the EngD course to become a clinical informatician at TU/e.
