Transport and mobility are critical parts of any modern economy and are some of the most important human activities worldwide. Today, our society and economy are facing an increasing transport demand for both people and goods. With the increased availability of rich datasets and artificial intelligence, the management of these flows is creating fresh challenges that require new planning, organization and operation strategies in the area of transportation. By following the Analytics for Transport and Mobility track of the Operations Management and Logistics master’s program, students gain the necessary knowledge and skills to deal with such challenges.
What you will learn as part of the Analytics for Transport and Mobility track
The Analytics for Transport and Mobility track combines a strong methodological basis with scientific operational domain knowledge and a focus on relevant research methods and design competency. Major topics include business models, network design, scheduling and routing optimization, last-mile logistics, car sharing, on-demand transportation, intermodal traffic management and demand management. In addressing these themes, students explore the limits of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics and learn how to apply these techniques to improve transportation efficiency – all while understanding and keeping in mind the role of human performance in mobility. By the end of the track, students will have developed themselves as global citizens through meaningful interactions with international staff and students, as well as the option to go abroad for an international semester.

How you will learn

This includes site visits, organizational challenges, research projects and guest lectures. To ensure that students feel supported throughout their master’s program and make well-informed decisions, Analytics for Transport and Mobility also makes use of a mentor system. From the early months of the program onward, an experienced lecturer and researcher will guide you in making choices on elective courses, studying abroad and the graduation project. This region, program and mentoring system all enable students to tailor their education to their skills and interests with a view to their long-term future.
