About us

B&R Beurs Eindhoven is a student investment society founded in 2016 by students of Eindhoven University of Technology. The mission of the society is to bring students, with an interest in investments and financial related topics, together. In order to realize the mission, the investment society is accessible for all students from Eindhoven. By providing courses, guest lectures, company events, leisure activities and weekly social drinks, B&R Eindhoven not only tries to bring people together, but it also tries to facility students to learn the ins-and-outs of investing and the financial world. Every student can be a member of an investment group. An investment group can be described as a group of students who are responsible for making investments together.

Investment competition

The Investment Competition is the core activity of B&R Beurs. Each week, return and volatility is calculated as standard deviation of the weekly returns. The group with the highest risk adjusted return at the end of the academic year wins the trophy.

Each group is registered as an association at the chamber of commerce, has a chairman and treasurer, and has its own trading bank account. Each group is independent, and has their own rules and specifications. The usual buy-in lays between €100 and €800. Groups manage their own money and investments autonomously. This is not only a great way to learn about investing, but also to kickstart your social life in Eindhoven and make new friendships!

The groups

The competition usually starts in early November and ends in late June. Members can either join an existing group or create their own investment group with like-minded members. The Investment Competition will provide you with experience and knowledge of investing that you cannot get anywhere else.

Bonum Vocatio

New people, newer initiatives and the newest opportunities. These are what describe the core values of Bonum Vocatio. Since the foundation of Bonum Vocatio, we have aimed to set up an investment group for the enthusiastic investor that is still new to the world of investing.

Cederes

Cederes Investment Group currently consists of 8 highly-passionate members who try to achieve as much profit as possible. They invest 350 euros per person. Their investment strategy is based on growth stocks. Are you up for a challenge? Join Cederes!

F.B.B.M Investment Group

F.B.B.M Investment Group is a diverse group of friends consisting of 11 members. We are an informal and accessible investment group where socializing and getting acquainted with the investment world are the cornerstones of the association. The group meets approximately once every two weeks to have a drink and to invest.

Helicopter Holding

Helicopter Holding is established in 2017 and currently consist of 6 extremely-passionate members who want to learn as much as possible about stock investing. The Helicopter Holding has been a group of friends ever since.

LH Investment Group

LH investment group, in which LH refers to the investment strategic choices based on Long-term perspective combined with High-potential investment opportunities. In order to achieve sustainable growth on our investments we approach a variety of members in order to gain the most important asset, which we believe is human knowledge.

Plebejers

The Plebejers Investment Group currently consists of six Bachelor and Masters students with various backgrounds. With €500 per member we have enough funds to give most of the various investment choices a chance. For the Plebejers Investment Group it doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your interests are, because connecting and comparing different views creates knowledge and knowledge is power!

Societas Cerevisiae

Societas Cerevisiae, formally known as the bierteam, consist of 8 members, with diversity present in almost every dimension. There are guys and girls, bachelor and master students with different educational backgrounds. We have decided to each contribute an amount of €400, leaving us with a nice €3200 to invest with.

VIX Capital

VIX Capital is an investment group consisting of 8 ambitious young men that are all eager to learn more about stock investment. VIX does not need to win the competition the first time around, our goal is knowledge acquirement and laying the foundations for many victories in the future.

Academy

The B&R Academy aims to teach our members about the fundamentals of investing. We provide separate courses for members who already understand and master the fundamentals of investing.

The beginner’s course will take place every week (bi-weekly later on) and will be taught by more experienced members of B&R Beurs Eindhoven. The course starts with the very basics of investing and builds on these throughout the year. On top of that a variety of in-depth academies are given on a wide range of different topics. For example: Bitcoins, Algorithm Trading, Market Making, etc. Once you have an understanding of trading and understand the fundamentals of investing, you can bring this theory into practice with your Investment Group or on your own with private investments. However, trading together in a group is highly recommended, since you can share ideas, information and theories about the financial markets. Furthermore, B&R Beurs considers the group building and its activities as a very important aspect of our society.
