Role of the Wellbeing Signal Group (WSG)
The Wellbeing Signal Group (WSG) at ME advocates for a more inclusive and equitable campus environment starting at the department level. We help picking up signals as small as they might be, help people to take personal agency via listening, allyship, showing support and help find direction. WSG does not take up or over the TU/e reportsystem. Our goal is to ensure that all individuals, staff and students, are supported on their journey to thrive, both professionally and personally. The areas that we can help you with consists of, but not limited to:
1. Awareness and Education: We raise awareness about diversity issues, promoting cultural competency, and educating our community about the importance of inclusion. They organize workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to foster understanding, empathy, and respect for diverse perspectives.
2. Support and Advocacy: We advocate for all individuals within our department. We work closely with administrators to address systemic issues, recommend policy changes, and advocate for an inclusive department.
3. Community Building: We foster a sense of belonging and community among diverse populations within the department. We organize events, activities, and support networks that create spaces for interaction, dialogue, and cultural exchange. These efforts help to break down barriers and build relationships.
Our ultimate goal is to empower all individuals in our ME department to strive for improvement of our wellbeing, so we all become inherently part of the signal group
