Browsing or borrowing books
Everyone is welcome to visit the TU/e Library to browse books or journals from our collection. Browsing books and journals at the Library is free of charge. If you wish to borrow books you require a Library card.
Students from schools of higher education (HBO)
Students from schools of higher education (HBO) may be registered as Library members on production of valid identification. These students will be issued a Library card. The fee for a Library card is € 13.50.
Up to 4 items may be borrowed at one time
Students from Fontys Hogescholen Eindhoven
Fontys students are issued free Library cards on production of a valid proof of enrolment. They must renew their Library cards each year.
Up to 4 items may be borrowed at one time.
Students from other universities in the Netherlands
Students from other universities may register as Library members free of charge on production of a valid student card and valid identification (passport/driving license).
Up to 4 items may be borrowed at one time.
Students from foreign institutions of education
Students from foreign institutions of education may be registered as members of the Library on producing a valid student identification and a proof of address. These students will be issued a Library card. The yearly fee is € 13,50.
Foreign students in the final fase of their course at TU/e and foreign trainees are issued free Library cards.

Staff from other universities and from institutions of higher education at Eindhoven
Staff from other Dutch universities and from institutions of higher education at Eindhoven may register as members of the Library free of charge on production of valid ID and proof of staff membership.

Staff from other institutions of higher education
Staff members from other Dutch institutions of higher education are issued Library cards on production of valid identification.
The annual fee is € 13.50.
Book reservation
Library members may make reservations for books currently on loan.
Loan period
Books are issued for 4-week periods. The loan period may be renewed if no other Library user has made a reservation. Renewal is permitted up to three times.
Penalties
Penalties are charged for exceeding loan periods.
No lending via mail
The TU/e Library does not lend items from its collection to students and staff members from other universities and schools of higher education via mail. You may place requests for books and photocopies from our collection at the library of the school or university where you study or work. The items requested will be mailed to that library at the appropriate rates. Therefore, ask the library at your own institution about their inter-library loan service.
