The Library provides access to a large number of on-line electronic databases. They vary widely in content (subject areas, types of data included), form (abstracts or full articles) and search options, and are acquired from many different producers and publishers. Most databases belong to the following main categories:
- Factual databases / Reference works:
databases holding factual information like corporate data, dictionaries, specialized handbooks - Specialized subject databases and bibliographies:
overviews of publications about research on national and international levels, mainly in scientific journals and reports - Journal databases by publisher:
Large publishers of scientific journals often offer tools for (full-text) searching of their own journal collections, e.g. Elsevier ScienceDirect and Wiley Interscience
Specialization and coverage
Databases may be of interest for various fields of study (Inspec and others), but are often specialized in specific subjects (ETDE Energy Database for example) or types of documents, like statistics (Statline) or patents (Derwent Innovations Index).
Full text
Wherever possible you will find links to the full text of the articles you are looking for.
Is literature found always available at TU/e?
Literature found in these databases is not always available at the TU/e Library. If not, documents may be requested from elsewhere via Inter-library loan. Or it may be that you must adjust your search query.
Access to databases
Access to databases and full-text journals for which TU/e has acquired licenses is limited.
